Power tariff likely to up by Rs1.12 per unit

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News):-Central Power Purchasing Agency has recommended increasing power tariff by Rs 1.12 as monthly fuel adjustment.


According to report issued by the Central Power Purchasing Agency, the price of electricity generated out of diesel was counted Rs 20.80 per unit while the cost of electricity generated out of furnace oil was Rs 16.


So far as the rate of electricity generated out of gas is concerned, it is Rs 5.21 while the cost of hydel power is only 8 pasas.


On the other hand, 90 million unit of electricity was lost due to theft and line losses.


In May, about 7.30 billion units were generated and its cost management has been counted Rs 56 billion.


CPPA has recommended increasing the power tariff by Rs 1.12 per unit while keeping in view the cost of the electricity.

NEPRA would review the recommendations put by the CPPA and give final approval in this regard.

Expensive electricity is certainly better than no electricity at all. But i guess they should work on bringing down the prices in future or at least keep it at the same level and not hide their incompetency behind an increase in price every time.

NEPRA raises power tariff by Rs1.12 per unit

ISLAMABAD: In what appeared to be yet another blow to already poverty-stricken masses, The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has increased electricity tariff by Rs1.12 per unit, Geo News reported Wednesday.

The price was increased on account of fuel adjustment for the month of May. It would be applicable on all the power distribution companies except the Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC).

If PTI had formed the government, the price of electricity would have magically come down?

The fact is no matter who forms the government, electricity prices need to be raised to cover the cost of production.

When the PPP government pondered to increase the electricity price even by a few paisas, Showbaaz Sharek used to jump up and down like a Baandar at Minar-e-Pakistan with a Pakkhi in his hand and the whole media and world watching him. Now the brainless patwaris justifying every same action of their masters.

When the PPP government pondered to increase the electricity price even by a few paisas, Showbaaz Sharek used to jump up and down like a Baandar at Minar-e-Pakistan with a Pakkhi in his hand and the whole media and world watching him. Now the brainless patwaris justifying every same action of their masters.

So why are the trolls insisting on copying Shahbaz Shareef by jumping up and down when power prices are being increased due to increase in fuel costs? Looks like trolls consider Shahbaz their role model.
