Post sharif punjab will be controlled by pashtun and sindhi dominated parties namely PTI and PPP .

Outside forces want PPP to be incorporated in main stream politics especially of centre and punjab but PPP has no votes , it has influence in certain Bar associations and some shia, qadiani and christian circles . Its outside support is also not very overwhelming .

So this attempt by PPP to use street power of PTI to occupy centre stage in punjab cannot succeed unless PTI makes it a partner present and future.

The moment Nawaz is gone , the PPP -PTI partnership will reduce Imran to zero in punjab in public eye especially his KPK CM is also faltering.

With ouster of Nawaz and brother the Punjab's role in national politics as an effective force which restarted with Zia's coup but then checkmated by Benazir and Ishaq khan till 1995 , will again end for a long time as punjab has no serious leader capable of controlling issues outside its boundary apart from sharifs.

As a punjabi sunni living and educated in cities my interest is definitely that city dwellers , punjabis and sunnis do not lose any voice in punjab and pakistan .

In punjab the depth of grip of chaudharies is not the same as that of sharifs , most punjabi leadership in PPP has no control over party matters which are ruled by small bunch of sindhi feudals . PTI similarly has not much support in Urdu speakers and Baluchistan as Baluchis and Urdu speakers see PPP as sindhi party and PTI as pashtun party, both rivals of turf.

As city dweller then we like to dump democracy as this is encouraging more and more urban administrative control being given to rural classes and urban youth of all ethnic groups of not only karachi but also punjab cities are not getting jobs and importance .

As Sunni , irrespective of ethnic group we do not like too much control by shias of media , of PPP, of MQM and lately PTI .

With Nawaz suddenly gone we will head back to bhutto era , benazir and Zardari era and ayub era where Sindhis and pashtuns controlled punjab.

Sounds ethnic but if one believes that any house has to have a "thakedar" for it to build and a "Gaurd' to protect it then it is important that before throwing the guard and thakedar one has to assure that they have a replacement which can work. Punjab has none .

Then as a pakistani we are worried that India is advancing and if punjabis who are most antiindians lose importance in the region , the foreign policy of pakistan will go to likes of Asfandyar , Asma jahangir , and Imran khan , all with considerable India links and visits.

PTI can face PMLN in punjab urban centres without any governmental posts in next elections , but PPP cannot , it wants to enter coalition so as to recreate itself in punjab and wants PTI to help it in trojan horse actions to help it in punjab .
