Police drama at Parliament House gate
* Visitors arrested as terrorists later prove guests of NA deputy speaker

ISLAMABAD: The drama of two persons arrest along with recovery of explosive material at gate of the Parliament House exposed the efficiency of Islamabad police on Monday.
During the National Assembly (NA) session, two guests of the NA Deputy Speaker were arrested for having explosive material. The senior police officers also rushed to the Parliament House, but later the explosive material proved rice powder and two fireworks.
After clearance of goods and identity, both the persons were allowed to enter the Parliament House premises and officials of law-enforcement agencies went back. According to police sources, Kifayat Ali Marwat and Faique Ali Tarar in Corolla car bearing registration No ICT/NW 366 reached the visitors gate of Parliament House. During the search police personnel found two fireworks and rice powder in a bag, which they considered explosive material and called senior police officers after arrest of both the persons.
They also informed the relevant officers through control room about arrest of the terrorists. Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Bani Amin, Secretariat Station House Officer (SHO) Inspector Hakim Khan and other officers of law-enforcement agencies reached the spot.
During enquiry both persons stated that they were guests of NA Deputy Speaker Faisal Kareem Kundi and they had come to meet him. They claimed that the goods in the car were not for any terrorist activity and they were responsible citizens.
The police officials contacted Kundi to ascertain the identity of the arrested persons and after his confirmation both the persons were released.
Secretariat Police Station duty officer Khalid said when it proved that both the persons had no links with any terrorist group and their intention was not wrong they were allowed to enter the premises of the Parliament House. Spokesman for Islamabad police said it was just misunderstanding and matter was solved at the place of incident.s
