Islamabad: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) has agreed on the name of Fakhruddin G. Ebrahim as the next Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
Asserting the decision, PTI Chairman Imran Khan said that both the parties have agreed on the name of the former Associate Judge of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, Fakhruddin G. Ebrahim.Earlier PML-N finalised three names for the slot of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) which would be sent to the parliamentary committee.Three names were acting CEC Justice Shakirullah Jan, Justice (r) Fakhruddin Ibrahim and Justice (r) Nasir Aslam Zahid.

PTI supporters ka kya reaction hoga on this choice ???

Some old people have much to offer, including bloody minded determination in their desire to do the right thing, and to do what they can to put things right in the twilight years of their lives

Perhaps the best example is Baba Jinnah himself

Surely someone like him is exactly the need of the day

He is honest and trustworthy, but he sholud not accept this position, because, if my memory serves me right he represented PML-N in some judicial matter. So I think there is some conflict of interest. But if its ok with other parties then I guess it would be alright.

Well, he has been a governor during a PPP government and has a long association with PPP going back to ZA Bhutto but he is known as a fair and unbiased person.

I agree with you and I like him for the job if he was 20 years younger. I believe per say he is the right person for the job. This job, particularly in Pakistan, requires a lot of energy and drive to stand up to pressure and to do the right thing. I think that he is at least in his 80s and it would be hard for him to do justice with this position unless he gets 4-5 Fakhruddin Ibrahim Juniors.

p.s. I think that the thread originator made a typo instead of writing "will PPP agree??" @Bombaybuz

Why not dost, ?

If it can be done with him recruiting his own team to do what is necessary then I do not mind 100 Juniors

In the long run it will repair a system which is so broken. It will be worth the cost and effort

Im confused now, you are asking question if PTI agrees, similar way you Tittle answers your question. :)

Anyways, Doesn't know about his profile. But If chosen then It would be best part which is not in favour of PPP Atleast.
