PM Khan must ban Fruits & Food Exports!!!

All fruit exports must be banned. We have issue of malnutrition and stunted growth in Pakistan. We need cheaper fruits available in local markets so all citizen can buy and consume more.

Imran Khan should also start a program where government buy this fruit from farmers and give free of cost to all kids in schools from grade Pre-K all the way to 12th.

Foreign exchange we receive from exporting is not really a huge amount. If we have cheap fruits available, our population will be healthy and more focused. As Imran Khan suggested in many of his speeches, stunted growth limits brain potential among our next generation.

By making cheaper fruits available kids will perform better in their education. Eventually these kids will go to other countries and secure better jobs and send us much more foreign exchange compared to the small amount that we currently receive through fruit exports.

In the other words we are stupid for exporting fruits and wasting our youth.

Invest in your people. Discourage this export mafia where few exporter families who are looting and filling their pockets.

Yes, Khan is going to give new agriculture policy on 27th. Wait for that.

On the other hand, this stunted growth issue is very serious. It cannot wait. We can wait on exporting till we improve our agriculture and start producing surplus.

i) Improved farming to produce more yields.
ii) Govt. removing impediments like middleman culture and buying directly from farmers for internal consumption.
iii) Subsidized supply for schools after purchasing from farmers directly.
iv) Farming such fruits which are less costly but more healthy e.g apples, banana

Stopping exports is an idea similar to banning merit (quota system) in civil services....

Not even a fair comparison. You need to get your head checked up by someone. Perhaps you have no idea what stunted growth is doing to our next generation.

Or perhaps you are morally sick and bankrupt. How can you export food when your own people are suffering, as stated by your own PM.

Bigger question is.
Can few million $ exports wait till agriculture is improved? Yes!
Can stunted growth problem wait? NO!!!!

Yes, government is working on that. But a fruit tree takes 4-5 years to be able to start producing. Our kids are hurting today.

We need to ban export while doing things to produce more. Once we have surplus, only then we should start exporting.

If financial situations permit Pakistan should take this step of stopping export of every thing that is needed in Pakistan and we get shortage after export, resulting higher prices. Otherwise nation must patiently wait and Inshallah soon we will be self sufficient in every thing

Many Western countries never export daily needs things which became shortage and expensive for local population..They only allow these products to export when local demands is fulfilled...Mostly exporters got the benefits..not the farmers.If we do this.. then daily needs things will be cheeper for poor and and middle class peoples..All best fruits..meat.. vegetables rice and others products out of the reach poor Peoples because of it's higher prices..
