in my opinion extension granted may be serving US intrests as well but at this time there is no way out for US forces to pull out of Afghanistan and that too with honour(LOL THIS WHAT THEY THINK) and Kayani can make it safe for them. his extension has some negative effects as well for example it can stop the growth of next commanders in Pak army for this period and to some extent morale of next commanders.wait and see what happens.overall it may be a better or worse decision for Pakistan.Every next commander in army is trained to fit in the shoes of out going and can do as good as his predicessor.they r capable enough to assume these duties effectively.
