ISLAMABAD: The black box report for the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) ATR42 operating as PK661 that crashed near Havelian confirms engine failure, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) revealed on Wednesday.

According to the secretary civil aviation, in light of the report, certain parts have been sent to France for further investigation. The aircrafts engine has been sent to Canada for further investigation as well.

The cockpit recording has also been retrieved from the black box, the secretary confirmed.

Investigators will try to determine why the aircrafts engine failed and a final report will be received within 3 months, the secretary added.

A PIA plane carrying 47 people crashed Wednesday on a domestic flight from the mountainous northern city of Chitral to Islamabad, killing all on board.

PIA meanwhile is still in process of paying compensation to the families of the deceased. In line with international rules and regulations, PIA has summoned families to come to the airline's Rawalpindi office on the 24th of March to identify belongings recovered from the crash site.

PIA is not responsible, its Pakistan CAA inspectors' negligence, they are most corrupt people issuing various authorization by getting personal favors from airlines. same goes for other government officials accepting bribes.
