What 1600 is too much? This is normal price for a two way ticket one way is around 800, but since flight is coming empty. I don't think its a lot
And according to law of the country, when an employer terminates his employee he is bound to provide a ticket back to his home country as well as a cash amount according to years of service ( like a retirement package )
And also during this pandemic govt has strictly given orders that even after termination they company has to look after them as in provide accommodation until they can leave the country.
So all this rhona dhona of not being able to afford tickets and houses is pointless. Alhamdulillah even with all its faults and issues, no one is sleeping on the roads or going hungry here. Even illegal immigrants.
Also remember Pakistan is not a rich country and cannot bring back 40,000 Pakistanis from all across the world in 1000s of one way empty flights. Airlines as it is worldwide are suffering.
