PERFORMANCE OF THIRD PARTY
IN GOVERNMENT

Election or selection parliamentary form or presidential is not the basic issue in-front of the present Government instead they have several other challenges that need urgent attention such as accountability, a sinking economy, escalating prices of daily use, and food items, rupee-dollar parity, and many more. Today’s analyst is actually interested to rate their performance and analyzing the steps they took to the stable the economy since they came into power. In- fact July 17, 2018, was the day when the people of Pakistan rejected the two-party system supported PTI to rule the country for the next five years in the hope to get the things better but due to lack of experience, poor policies, failure in the selection of right man for the right job, cabinet members, advisors, Special Assistants dealing with the bureaucracy they are still struggling to put the country on the right path in past two years that means they already consumed 40% in their allotted time.

Previous Governments did a lot for this country but unfortunately, no progress was also reported in any sector except blaming each other in the current setup. Prices of food and essential items of daily use are skyrocketing and become out of reach from common man; mafias are uncontrollable holding responsible positions making policies to protect their interest as they were doing with full authority in previous Governments. Federal Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed himself showed his concern over Government’s inability to control these heinous crimes in an interview recently telecast on national media. In reply to a question, he retreated that it is almost impossible to stop these guys. Prime Minister took notices, installed commissions got reports but the result is big zero. People who supported PTI is now in the great depression and started losing hopes just because they don’t have a clear-cut policy, inexperience, lack of interest, and problem-solving skills to deal with the problem arising on daily basis.

No doubt Prime Minister himself struggling very hard trying to put the train on right track but the boogies are not ready to travel on a bumpy track furthermore, nobody looks interested neither shown their interest by any action or reaction. As regards the performance of the Punjab Government, everybody in the political arena almost every day requesting rather begging Prime Minister in person and Federal Government as a whole to think about a positive change in the province because everything is there except Government and their performance in the last two years. But it is a true and undeniable fact that PTI inherited a sinking economy, a huge budget deficit, sizeable foreign and local loans, etc., etc. The general public is suffering a lot just due to inconsistent policies and decisions. If anybody has time to summarize two years' performance of the PTI Government the following points will automatically come under discussion and everybody wants to know the answers to determine their performance.

No viable constructive development plan was designed in the past two years
Failed to implement even a single item of their election manifesto
Nothing was done on the accountability issue
No action was taken so far on the commissions report set for Sugar, Atta, IPPs, medicine, and petroleum products.

Ineffective opposition uninterrupted support of institutions does not affect on their performance not a single department of the Government showed positive progress in the last two years. Grocery items and items of daily use become out of reach, energy prices showing upward trend resulting increase in transportation expenses and fares for those who use public transport on a daily basis that is not the end of story conditions of Government-sponsored hospitals, clinics, dispensaries, wellness centers, maternity homes are all in state of disaster.

PTI is not the only partner who create this havoc some others are also equally responsible for making things bad to worst and PPP is the best example to quote here ruling ing Sindh for straight twelve years and many more years before received billions and billions of rupees through the National Finance Commission (NFC) awards to change the leaving style of people of Sindh and to development facilities, replace old worn-out infrastructure such as roads, bridges, by-passes, roads, schools, hospitals, etc.

To avoid deviation from the topic we come back to the performance of the present Government which is not good so far, all economic indicators showing downward trends predicting economy all-time low, prices of commodities in daily use showing an upward trend making the life of a common man miserable. PTI Government enters in the third year now they are in do or die position have to plan on war footings used all available resources to satisfy their voters.
