Islamabad: The federal government on Wednesday has decided to observe Sept 27 as Kashmir Solidarity Day, GNN reported.

A notification in this regard has been issued by interior ministry today [Sept 25].

The notification reads that rallies will be carried out across country to express solidarity with the oppressed people of Indian-occupied Kashmir (IOK). National flag will also fly at half-mast.

"Prime Minister Imran Khan has very kindly approved September 27, Friday, as Kashmir Solidarity Day for holding public rallies across Pakistan to express their feelings with the people of India-occupied Jammu and Kashmir," read the notification.

On Sept 27, Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan will address 74th session of United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). In his speech, PM Khan will voraciously raise issue of severe human rights’ violations in Kashmir, inhuman curfew, communication blackout, mass killings and kidnappings by Indian troops.

Yesterday [Sept 24], PM Imran Khan had warned international community that nuclear-armed Pakistan and India might come face-to-face over Kashmir dispute.

“Lock down of 8 million people is unprecedented. There are 11 Security Council resolutions that characterize Kashmir as a disputed region and promise plebiscite”, apprised premier.

“We fear that India will change the demography of Kashmir. To change the demography of occupied piece land is against the Geneva Convention and tantamount to war crimes. Once curfew is lifted, Indian forces will carry out massacre”, PM Imran Khan told attendants.

“Back then in Feb when Pulwama happened, the parent of the boy [who blew himself] stated that he was radicalized by Indian forces. When asked for evidence, they [read India] bombed us. We retaliated and shot down two Indian jets. We returned the captured pilot but it was treated as sign of weakness”, PM Imran Khan was quoted as saying.
