Pakistan Taliban launches new Facebook page

[h=2]The Pakistan Taliban has set up a Facebook page to recruit budding propagandists for a new quarterly magazine, according to terrorism analysts.[/h]
It is the latest move by jihadist groups to use social media or digital technology for spreading militant rhetoric or attracting new members.

The site, apparently set up by a media unit affiliated with the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), has already attracted almost 100 "likes".

"Pen is mightier than the sowrd (sic). Now you have a chance to use this mighty weapon... Would you like to be a writer for Ahyah-e-Khilifat [Sign of the Caliphate]?" says a message posted on the Umar Media TTP page.

The TTP is an umbrella group of militant movements, closely linked to al-Qaeda, with bases through the country's tribal areas along the border with Afghanistan.

It claimed responsibility for a suicide truck bombing in north-western Pakistan on Tuesday, which injured four policemen and two civilians close to a police station.

پشاور/اسلام آباد(آئی این پی) تحریک طالبان پاکستان کے ترجمان احسان اللہ احسان کے پشاور میں واقع ایک غیر ملکی سفارتی مشن کے سیف ہاﺅس میں مقیم ہونے کا انکشاف ہوا ہے اور وہ وہاں سے نہ صرف ملک میں ہونے والی دہشت گردی کے ہر واقعہ کی فوری ذمہ داری قبول کرتا ہے بلکہ غیر ملکی بالخصوص امریکی میڈیا کو بروقت دستیاب رہتا ہے۔ باخبر اور ذمہ دار سکیورٹی ذرائع کے مطابق انٹیلی جنس اداروں کے پاس ٹھوس شواہد موجود ہیں۔ ذرائع کا دعویٰ ہے یہ ہاﺅس دہشت گردی کے خلاف جنگ لڑنے والے صف اول کے ملک کے زیر استعمال ہے اور اس کی سکیورٹی نہ صرف فول پروف ہے بلکہ وہاں کسی بھی پاکستانی سکیورٹی ادارے کو رسائی حاصل نہیں۔ ذرائع نے بتایا ترجمان کو مواصلاتی رابطے کے جدید الات فراہم کئے گئے ہیں۔ ذرائع نے بتایا احسان اللہ احسان امریکی میڈیا سے بات چیت کے دوران پاکستان کے خلاف سنگین الزام تراشی کرتے ہیں۔​

The Taliban never believe in convincing their opponents through reasoning and arguments and always prefer brute force to silence the opponents so what is their purpose of creating this page I wonder,maybe they intend to recruit more suicide bombers.

PESHAWAR: The Pakistani Taliban has set up a page on Facebook to recruit enthusiasts to write for a quarterly magazine and to edit video, a spokesman confirmed Friday.
The Umar Media TTP page, which has more than 270 likes, appears to have been created in September and has just a handful of messages written in English.
Umar Media is proud to announce online jobs oppertunities (sic), says the first post on the networking website, written on October 25.
Job discription (sic) is video editing, translations, sharing, uploading, downloading and collection of required data, it says, giving an email address and asking readers to plz spread it. This fb account ma be deleted.
Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) spokesman Ehsanullah Ehsan confirmed to AFP by telephone on Friday that the faction was temporarily using the page to fulfil its requirements before launching its own website.
US-based organisation SITE Intelligence Group says the TTP uses Facebook as a recruitment centre.
Through its official media arm, Umar Media, the TTP has taken to Facebook to recruit contributors for their media work and the groups forthcoming publication Ayah-E-Khilafat (Sign of the Caliphate), it said in a statement.
The TTP Facebook page describes the publication as its official quarterly magazine and asks writers to submit articles on (a) topic of your choice, or on jihadi current affairs, history, Islamic movements or the plight of Muslims.
Last month, the TTP claimed responsibility for planting a bomb under the car of a prominent Pakistani journalist and TV anchorman, Hamid Mir.
