Over 10,000 transgenders living in Pakistan, reveals census data

Thus the various numbers claimed by interest groups ranging from 2 lakh to half million and more must be put to rest. Those exaggerated numbers were believed only by those who wished to sell those numbers for political and monetary gains.

One example from the last year report claimed:
"Part of the transgender or hijra community, social stigma and discrimination make them outcasts in Pakistan’s highly conservative society. While there are no official precise figures on the number of transgender or third-gender people living in the country, estimates range from 80,000 to 350,000-500,000, with perhaps 60-70,000 in Karachi alone."

The groups who made up these numbers and used them must be pointed out and asked to correct their reports and statistics if not but only for the sake of accuracy.
