Only 30% Pakistanis are fasting: Mullah Tariq Jameel

LAHORE - Only 30 percent people across the country observe fasting, says a prominent religious leader who keeps visiting various provinces for preaching. Maulana Tariq Jameel of Tableeghi Jamaat said in an interview to a TV channel that in rural areas of Sindh, Balochistan and Punjab most of the people did not know that it was the month of fasting. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, however, the situation was much better.

It may be mentioned here that 70 percent population lives in rural areas.

Ramzan Jani ..... Pathan Jani

This is a fact that #only Pukhtoon keep fasts .... I have personal experience.

I used to live with my Punjabi brothers. Most of them never fast , some fast a few while only 1 person, he was from Mandi Bahaudeen... fast full.

The most common excuse you hear from your Punjabi friends is " O khan bhai , sahri miss hogayee na " ... so what I have fasted many times without sahri .... what kind of excuse is this.

But when it is eid , they will change new clothes before you... even though they don't keep any fast but for Eid prayer they are always ready.

I think they don't know that Eid is for only those who keep fasts.

in this video, the person uses a verse of Quran to jest and that clearly is mocking Quran while the others laugh at it? Is TJ a prophet who shouldn't be questioned upon it? While Surah Kahaf towards its end clearly indicates that mocking it would result in direct jahannam, no hisab. And it has also been advised in Quran if such a thing is going on, get away from such people or you would be counted amongst them.

He is correct. Most people in Karachi don't fast. Reason are lame from dehyderation, to tummy ache, to tooth ache. People simple refuse to fast, since they cannot stop chewing tobacco, gutka smoke ciagrette or other stuff.

yep...i think tariq jameel means 30 percent people in north central punjab and kpk/kashmir keep fast..in sindh and balochistan very very few people fast and even lower number outside the big cities.
so over all may be 20 percent or less people may fast here.
pakistan is not like arab where even a labourer knows how to pray full namaaz.here in pakistan very few people even know how to pray namaaz or how to recite kalima properly.and it makes me laugh when munafiqqs blame islam for pakistan,s problems.lol.islam is as rare in pakistan as honesty.

Re: فرض یا سنّت ؟

Sunnah is what Prophet Muhammad said, did, or recommended for Muslims worldwide to do from his time until the end of time.

Still 4 wives are not Sunnah its the limit. But marriage is Sunnah and you can do it with just 1 wife.
