Oil refinery to usher economic revolution: Imtiaz Qureshi

PESHAWAR (APP): Deputy Speaker, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, Imtiaz Shahid Qureshi has said that the establishment of oil refinery at Soban, Shakardara will usher economic revolution in the province and will increase its receipts.

He expressed these views while talking to media during visit to Kohat to review suitable sites for the establishment of oil refinery. He stressed that delay in the project is not in the interest of the province. Therefore, it should be completed as soon as possible.

Besides, Special Assistant to Chief Minister, Amjad Afridi, members provincial assembly, Ziaullah Bangash, Gul Sahib Khan, Dina Naz, Commissioner, Kohat, Syed Jamaluddin Shah, D.Cs Kohat & Karak, senior officials of Pakistan State Oil, local notables including Mohammad Javed, Mohammad Munir, Ishfaq Qureshi, Brig (Retd) Mohammad Ali, local PTI president, Subaidar Juma Khan, vice president, Haji Mohammad Amir and a large number of local leaders were also present on the occasion.

Strange....didn't know tht kpk produces enuf oil to build a refinery? there is attock refinery right there....as I said I am confused

Establishing a refinery at shakardara will only be feasible if there is enough local production of crude oil.They say that KPK produces around 28,000 BPD and they are going to establish a refinery which can refine 40,000 BPd it means that the rest they will have to lay pipelines upto karachi and transmit the rest from there.
