ISLAMABAD: A senior leader of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League (N) on Wednesday suggested that a post of deputy prime minister be created and offered to PTI for resolving the current political impasse.
Senator Jafer Iqbal told Samaa that he has written a detailed letter to the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in which he has outlined various options to remove the current deadlock and to ensure continuity of the democracy.
He said that rules of business should be amended to create a post of deputy prime minister, who should be given authority to fulfill the demands put forth by Imran Khan.
Referring to demands of Dr Tahirul Qadri, he said that a referendum should be held in the country to seek public opinion whether they want to change the system as demanded by PAT.
He also suggested that the law should take its own course with regard to Model Town tragedy. Samaa
