Engaging Pakistan is important, but India must assess how far it can go. It is time India straightened out the mess inside its own head.

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan government Monday said it has no immediate plan to grant the most favoured nation (MFN) status to India.

Pakistan's finance minister Ishaq Dar said there was no immediate recommendation being considered to grant India the MFN status, Geo News reported.

Dar told the TV channel there was a need to normalise relations with India on a number of issues. "There is no immediate consideration to grant India MFN status."

Relations between the two South Asian neighbours have been strained after India accused the Pakistan army of killing five soldiers at the line of control (LoC) last week. Pakistan has rejected the accusation.

Over the last few days, there have been a number of ceasefire violations on the LoC.

Also, Pakistan Monday summoned Indian deputy high commissioner Gopal Baglay to express its "serious concern" over alleged ceasefire violations on the Line of Control over the past few days.

Pakistan also requested the Indian government to ensure security and safety of offices of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) in India following threats, purportedly by the Shiv Sena, to shut down its Delhi and Mumbai offices, the Pakistan high commission said in New Delhi.

According to an Indian defence spokesperson in Jammu, Pakistani troops violated the bilateral ceasefire thrice since Sunday, firing at Indian positions from across the border.

India responded to the Pakistani fire, and the exchange of fire continued till 3.30 a.m. Monday. Indian forces said Pakistan used heavy weapons to fire at the Indian positions.

The Pakistani nation completely backs this decision by the government and lauds then for re-considering this mistake the earlier government made. (bigsmile)

If India wants Trade with pakistan then that can only happen after it resolves the kashmir issue, stops fake false flags and it initiates a "Pakistan Ki Bhasha" type initiatives in India which our shameless media has been running here in Pakistan.(bigsmile)

Until then, they can trade with Sri Lanka

NEW DELHI, JUNE 13:

India is looking forward to Pakistan implementing its earlier decision to accord it the Most Favoured Nation (MFN) status when Commerce Secretaries of the two countries meet, a senior Government official said on Thursday.
Officials are indicated that the newly elected Pakistan Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif, had in a meeting with S.K. Lambah, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s Special Envoy, reiterated that the time for India and Pakistan to build a new relationship had come.

Sharif has also said that it was very much in the economic interests of Pakistan and India to take forward the co-operative relationship. Lambah met Sharif before he was sworn in as Prime Minister.

Pakistan was supposed to extend MFN status to India by the end of December 2012 by removing the ban on Indian products, but could not do so because of opposition from the farm, pharmaceuticals and auto lobbies.
Although Pakistan now allows imports of over 6,800 items from India, up from about 2,000 items earlier, it continues to ban 1,200 items.

Plus Indian products through Dubai are expensive because of the added cost and our market can then support it (bigsmile) . This way your policy of destroying our markets through cheap products always remains pipe dream [hilar][hilar][hilar]

The fact remains is that this is another slap on your usual lies that you dont want the MFN status which you clearly do !![hilar][hilar]

First you and your confused government must decide between perpetrating false flags and getting trade routes ...their's too much confusion even you dont know which side to take [hilar][hilar][hilar]

I never said they dont and by the Indians do the same as well. I know several Indian Cricket Equipment traders who order OEM product from Pakistan because of its quality and then slap BAS Vampire, SS and other stickers on it to re-sell it. (bigsmile)

We are perfectly fine with that and India had a lot too gain from this deal because their products are cheaper than ours. But again the problem is your intentions are BAD which is why this relationship can never work.

Everyday your caught lieing or implicating us in fake false flags, then how will you trade ?? [hilar][hilar]

We will Inshallah make you understand who is the boss in the region and how you need to start respecting them (bigsmile), otherwise my ancestors have left us with a great legacy [hilar][hilar][hilar][hilar]

MFN status does not worth the paper its written on[hilar][hilar] Do you know what non-tariff barriers are(yapping)(yapping). India had given Pakistan MFN status but placed NTFs like many countries do[hilar][hilar]

We never had any problems with buying from Pakistan if the price is right and quality is good and we will continue to buy. It was you who screwed your self in 1965 when you decided to place sanctions on India[hilar][hilar] and destroyed your industry[hilar]. Its like one of several times when you shoot your self on the foot[hilar]

Again were not worried because it was your government that came begging to us asking for MFN status so that you can :

a. Crush our local markets
b. Access afghanistan and stab us from the back
c. access central asia

Sorry but NOW we will trade and buy from China and supply it to all of central asia and middle east and not only products BUT also energy back to China (bigsmile)

You boys can sit and watch or marry a dog here and there or continue raping your own women [hilar][hilar][hilar]

That was the right decision. It taught us to diversify our markets against a hostile neighbour (bigsmile) . The neighbour at that time was claiming that Pakistan wont last for 6 months [hilar][hilar]

Boy that was some lesson learnt for the hate mongers [hilar][hilar][hilar]
