Food for thought! Please watch this clip from an interview with General Rtd. Naeem Khalid Lodhi @naeemlodhi53, his discussion is around the narrative in mainstream media that PTI and the establishment are trying to find common grounds.
The question arises, Common grounds on what basis? How is this fair to Pakistanis, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Imran Khan? A party that has the mandate of the people of Pakistan with 180 seats, with Imran Khan as the most competent figure, a party that is advocating for rule of law in Pakistan and the only political party facing unprecedented fascism by the authoritarian regime, is being expected to strike a deal with the establishment.
A deal with an undertaking, that once in power, they will not seek revenge. In other words, PTI is expected to NOT establish rule of law within the state which is essential for ensuring justice, fairness, and accountability. Rule of law, in essence, will mean that the law applies equally to all individuals, including government officials, and that no one is above the law.
