My analysis after the cancellation of the visit of President of China.
It is a big setback for the Nawaz government, it has been denied a big opportunity to boost and strengthen its political position in the current turmoil.
Nawaz was feeling stronger after calling the joint session of the Parliament and the bickering by Pakistani elites. This visit would have relieved the pressure on Nawaz further because for duration of the Presidents stay in Pakistan, the agitations had to go lowkey.
I think the Pakistan Army was also keeping its cool despite massive attacks by the Parliamentarians on the Army. They didnt want to rock the boat before the tour of Chinas President is over.
I am sure now they would sit down and start looking at the abuse thrown at them and respond in appropriate manner. The dirty, corrupt and hypocritical politicians had their field days. Even today the speeches in the Parliament were soaked in hatred for Pakistani institutions. ANP leadership was venting its venom once again against the institutions of Pakistan.
The Government was feeling that the pressure is off them now, no wonder the Don Ahsan Iqbal started to mock the protesters in his speech today. All through his speech he mocked PTI. If I were PTI leaders I would refuse to accept him in PMLN negotiation team and ask him to get lost.
I am certain that the pressure would mount on Nawaz and its government from tomorrow onwards, now that the visit of Chinas president is officially postponed for indefinite period. I am sure the Military would start making its moves now. Todays meeting between Shahbaz Sharif and COAS General Raheel Sharif should be looked in the same prospective. Earlier I was of the opinion that the meeting was conducted to make sure that Military uses its leverage against the protesters, facilitating the visit of the President of China.
After the announcement of cancellation of the Visit by the President of China, the meeting should be looked in different light. I am sure at the time of the meeting it was already known to both parties that the visit had been cancelled.
PMLN and other criminals have tried their best to create a rift between COAS General Raheel and other Generals of Pakistan Army. They would get their response very soon. I dont think Army would take these attacks very lightly. Nawaz Sharif would come under tremendous pressure once again starting from tomorrow or even from this evening.
While I was writing my piece, TUQ has started his speech. He is on fire and slating the parliamentarians for their speeches. The game is back on.
