I think General Musharaf made few mistakes like, handling of Lal Masjid issue and NRO. Otherwise he is a Patriot Pakistani with no Corruption charges on him.

Mostly his opponents hates him just because he is not Punjabi. Our Nation is one of the most racist country in the world.

Jubair ibn Mutim reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:

لَيْسَ مِنَّا مَنْ دَعَا إِلَى عَصَبِيَّةٍ وَلَيْسَ مِنَّا مَنْ قَاتَلَ عَلَى عَصَبِيَّةٍ وَلَيْسَ مِنَّا مَنْ مَاتَ عَلَى عَصَبِيَّةٍ​

General Musharaf made SO many blunders...............to please US/West to legitimise his regime. The list includes US bases inside Pakkstan, US spy machinary......black water, NGOs, etc to be cosolidated inside Pakistan, Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan issue to hand over him to US........a compromise over Pakistan nuclear issue and strategic stability, his compromises with MQM and shredding and promotion of political defactions and later with political parties including NRO. His 180 degree turn over Afghan policy, and a state of indecision over western border that helped consolidate outlaw factions within our territory. His regime put pakistan into a state of inaction and incapacity and let successive political regime continue compromise over national interests. He let estate mafia and corruption flourished. He must be held responsible for May massacre in Karachi. Pakistan is now paying the price of this policy of Inaction and military is engaged in a war to cleanse the state from within. He must take the responsibility to politicise army. Quranic verses must not be used to cover his mistakes.

Quranic verses can be used to defend Altaf Bori wala as well, but you have to be a sick SOB.
