Mrs Ghazala Qadri awarded PhD
Dr Ghazala Hassan Qadri completed her PHD from Birmingham university on the topic of:
'Reforms in the law of Khula in Pakistan'
'Khula' is the right for a woman to separate from her husband. It is particularly seen as a negative thing within the Indo-Pak continent.
Nevertheless, Islam has given the right to the woman and culture cannot take that away. Under certain circumstances, the woman is allowed to separate from her husband, Allah does not condone a relationship which causes harm, physical or mental, to the woman, and she is not simply supposed to 'deal with it' just because it is not seen as 'the right thing to do' within the culture.
LAHORE - Ghazala Hassan Qadri, wife of Hassan Mohiyuddin Qadri and daughter-in-law of Pakistan Awami Tehreek chairman Dr Tahirul Qadri, has been awarded PhD from University of Birmingham in UK.Her synopsis was Reforms in law of dissolution of marriage in Pakistan.
Dr Qadri, leaders and workers of PAT greeted Dr Ghazala on her success.
