MQM delegation visits Mansoora, met with JI leader Ameer Munawwar Hassan

A Mutahidda Qaumi Movement (MQM) delegation and Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) leaders have announced that national security and the problems faced by the country demand that political parties establish a consensus for national solidarity,Express News reported on Tuesday.

The MQM delegation met with JI leader Ameer Munawwar Hassan and other party leaders in Lahore.

The meeting comprised of talks on issues of national security after which, in a joint press conference, MQM leader Farooq Sattar and Munawwar Hassan said that a round table conference on issues of national security should be held so that consensus can be established, adding that meetings were the only way to resolve differences between political parties.

Munawwar Hassan said that the time for early elections had passed and that the government needs to be pressurised to hold elections on time.

Both parties agreed that the public was looking towards political parties right now and they will have to reach consensus till a transitional government is formed and elections take place.

MQM delegation meets JI chief at Mansoora

LAHORE: Leaders of two rival parties, the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) and the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), met here Tuesday, a sign that gulf between political opponents is narrowing ahead of upcoming general elections in the country, SAMAA reports.

The MQM delegation, led by party’s Deputy Convenor Dr Farooq Sattar, met JI chief Syed Munawar Hasan at Mansoora, Lahore, and discussed the current national political scenario.

Speaking to media representatives afterwards, Sattar said the two parties had agreed that political relations would further be strengthened and cordial relations be forged in order to steer the country out of crises.

“The government doesn’t seem to be going to hold timely elections in Pakistan,” the JI chief feared. To which the MQM leader called for the polls.

Farooq Sattar said “our party has proved that it’s the real opposition and we are confident of making contacts with ANP, Jamat-e-Islami and PML-Q in greater interest of the country.” -- SAMAA

MQM has only proved its maturity. MQM and JI political understanding/alliance is not a bad idea in national interest. Both have great potential to do good for the country.

When did that happen, They have been in bed with every Party in Gov in the last 20 years including Mush

So how have they proved they are the "real opposition"

Yes like a mistress looking for a new master because the old one has had his time,and is no longer of use time to find a new bedfellow for the next 5 years or so.......
