I have just come back from Pak, I can assure you all morons. You will keep on crying and will never see the victory large enough to become government. There is sooo much work happening there that it is not even funny.
the poor people of Pakistan are working, they are using Metros in Lahore and Pindi/Islamabad...soon in multan etc....
So as I said, keep on crying as this is destined for you guys. PMLn WILL WIN AGAIN and this time around with even bigger strength..:P
Very sorry to see a fellow Canadian who has been fooled by the glitz and glamour of Metro buses, bridges and roads.
I also went to Pakistan recently & loved the roads & bridges being built there but also saw the horrible conditions MAJORITY of public lives under.
There is a severe shortage of clean water, electricity, working hospitals, schools and decent jobs.
Unfortunately, all these are very low on Government's priority....
They're taking money out of these important areas and dumping it into more roads and metros.
Forget about what opposition is demanding from government...
A "democratic government" should at least do what other "democratic governments" around the world are doing.
There should be a totally unbiased investigation into the facts unearthed by Panama leaks...period!

Thanks for a sane response..Here is a bit detail.
I took a ride on Pindi metro around 8PM in mid march. To be honest with you I was almost shocked to see that the bus was end to end packed. 99.9% riders were visually not from the affluent segment of society. There were 2 tourist families (I and one more family with 3 kids) rest were low income riders.
In principle I agree with you that hospitals and schools should be top priority but the basic principle of economics is roads from product to market are the first and rest follows. We can not compare with western countries as these have been past those days of development at least a century ago.
I promise you by the end of their tenure, you will see a move to other social sectors more than today...
At the end of the day, we all want Pakistan to be successful...whoever does it is really not the point....to me at least
