LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan has condemned the unprecedented loadshedding in the country, saying it has affected not only businesses and industry but every citizen.
He held the unprecedented inefficiency and corruption of the ruling cabal, which consists of the most notorious people ever to occupy highest offices of the land, as responsible for the entire crisis.
In a statement on Friday, he said the rulers have no concern for the suffering of the people and this is typified by the visit to London by Yousaf Raza Gilani, with an entourage of nearly eighty people. This high expenditure extravaganza is happening at a time when country is engulfed by an energy crisis with widespread demonstrations all over.
Imran Khan said PTI stands with the people of Pakistan and it will spearhead the drive to oust the government because people are not ready to bear this coalition of the corrupt any longer. This electricity crisis was eminently avoidable and is largely self created, said Imran Khan. In the last four years, he said a subsidy of one trillion Rupees has been paid, electricity tariff has been doubled but still no solution has been found to the electricity crisis. In fact, it would be fair to say said Imran that the energy crisis has been used by the ruling cabal led by the most notorious President in our history to enrich itself. Nothing typifies this more than the Rental Power scam that has added little to the national electrical grid but was used by the corrupt political elite and people like Pervaiz Ashraf to loot and plunder. This fraud with the nation was only stopped because the Supreme Court intervened. Otherwise, these people, said Imran, would have continued to ere rip the nation off without any concern for the people and the least bit improvement in the availability of electricity..

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan has criticised the government for intense loadshedding in the country. In a statement issued here on Tuesday, he said the countrywide protests against massive loadshedding showed that the people were fed up of the false promises made by the government. Imran Khan asked the people to hold peaceful protests as damaging the public property would not help anyone.
He expressed concerns over closure of industries, saying thousands were losing jobs on daily basis due to power crises. He said that on coming into power, the PTI would utilise alternative sources to generate electricity.
