it reminds me of the shock, which I got few weeks later... one of my African friend showed me pictures of a funeral ceremony of her village... people were enjoying, place was decorated with balloons and ribbons, there was no sign of grief... she explained it as : in Christianity, there are two real celebrations, once when you are born and once when you are dead"... may be these people are not Muslims, but Christians... Genetically these are the heirs of Buddhism .If you study Buddhism in Tibet,India and Chitral
they celebrate if someone born or die.There are a ot of video on tube topics like this.Your can convert
to other religion and follow that but genetically you cant change their behavior.These people are the children
of that religion though they are muslims now but they will follow certain tradition which clashes with Islam

I have observed such type of funerals in Central Punjab rural areas when someone dies at the age of more than 100 years of age people do celebrate their death. Never know the reason but it is part of their culture.
