PPP is now going to say that whilst C J holds office, there cannot be a fair trail, because the other Supreme Court Judges will be under his influence. Hence if he really wants justice to be done,he should resign from the Supreme Court

It is coming in the next few days, probably start with someone like Fawad Chaudhry

They think they can now put pressure on the CJ to stepdown altogether through the Media on this point alone

So far so good, but there is much much more to come.

and yes fawaad was tweeting things like that, now that shows how this conspiricy could be related to Govt although they are saying we have nothing to do with it.

They will try no doubt but there is nothing in media reports to suggest that CJ himself abused his position of power, so that rule of resignations to not influence the process does not apply here I believe. Further, can a CJ "temporarily" resign like ministers do in established democracies? I don't think they can. Ministers can always temporarily resign and then return when they are clear. On merit I think, distancing himself from the bench is the most that could be done and kudos to him for doing it.

I agree with you, unfortunately they cannot, the moment the CJ steps aside, a new one will be appointed and Ch Iftikhar will be history. I do not want that to happen. This is kind of difficult to say. but I think the CJ will pay the price here by having to resign so that there is a "fair" and "open" trail.

Resignation is the best solution for him and Pakistan.Earlier he goes better,there will be minimal harm to him and Pakiastan.If things prolong possibly some worst out come.Keep Pakistan safe and get out of crisis.
