SRINAGAR (Dunya News) - At least three Kashmiri youth were shot dead and many injured after Indian forces opened fire on peaceful protestors in Charar Sharief and Beerwah areas of Badgam district on Sunday.
The protesters were rallying against the sham Indian parliamentary elections being held for Srinagar constituency.Among the martyrs one has been identified as 15-year-old Faizan Ahmad Dar, another is Muhammad Abbas, while the identity of the third martyred youth could not be ascertained, so far.
Two youth were martyred in Delwin area of Charar-e-Sharif while the other at Beerwah in Badgam district.Four youth were hit by pellets in Batru area of Chari Sharief.On the call of joint resistance leadership, a complete shutdown is being observed against the farce polls.
Traffic is off the road in the city areas and peripheries while shops and business establishments are also closed.
The authorities have suspended all mobile and internet services in the three districts of Srinagar, Badgam and Gandarbal where voting is scheduled.
On the other hand, the puppet authorities have put almost entire Hurriyet leadership including Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, Aasiya Andrabi and Nayeem Ahmed Khan either in jails or under house detention. The arrests have been made to stop the leaders from leading the anti-India demonstrations and election-boycott rallies.
