Indian air chief threatens Pakistan over LoC unrest

Threatening Pakistan over the LoC unrest, Indian Air Chief NAK Browne said India would consider other options if Pakistan continued to violate the ceasefire agreement, Express News reported on Saturday.

Pakistan, on the other hand, summoned the Indian ambassador on Friday to protest against unacceptable and unprovoked attacks by the Indian army that killed two Pakistani soldiers in five days in Kashmir.

On Tuesday, India said two of its soldiers were killed by Pakistani troops and that one of them was beheaded in the disputed Himalayan region, which is claimed in full by both India and Pakistan but ruled in part by each.

Both sides claim responding to firing and neither is willing to admit which side fired first.

The United States has urged the nuclear-armed rivals to cool tensions along the heavily militarised LoC.

Kashmir, a Muslim-majority territory, has been the cause of two of their three wars since independence from Britain in 1947.

[h=1]India suggests flag meeting on LoC[/h]SANDEEP DIKSHIT We have enough firepower on the border to take care of any situation, says Antony

While talking tough, India has suggested a flag meeting on the Line of Control with Pakistan to sort out the skirmishes that have led to the death of four soldiers from both sides since Sunday.
The Army has suggested a brigadier-level meeting at Baloni in the Mendhar sector, one of the four spots on the LoC where flag meetings are usually held. There has been no response from the Pakistani side so far, say government sources.
On the other hand, Defence Minister A.K. Antony said on Friday that India had enough firepower on the border to take care of any situation and described the beheading of an Indian soldier on Tuesday as a “turning point.” The Minister, however, did not elaborate. “It is not an isolated incident. Ceasefire violations and infiltration attempts are increasing. It is a matter of concern to us and the tragic, provocative actions two days back [killing of two Indian soldiers and the beheading of one] were a turning point,” the Minister said.
“We are closely monitoring the whole development and Indian troops are on alert. At the same time, we have directed the DGMO [Director-General of Military Operations] to be in touch with his counterpart. Let’s see the result of that talk. The government, in a coordinated manner, is closely monitoring the situation and we will take every step to protect our interest and prestige of our armed forces,” he added.
India requested a flag meeting on a day when the Pakistan Foreign Office summoned High Commissioner Sharat Sabharwal to complain about the firing purportedly from the Indian side of the LoC that killed a Pakistani soldier on Thursday.
Ministry of External Affairs spokesman Syed Akbaruddin, while informing the media about the position taken by the High Commissioner in Islamabad, reiterated New Delhi’s position that it was “capable” of resolving bilaterally the issue that did not brook mediation by the United Nations or any other country.
Mr. Sabharwal had told the Pakistani side that Indians had opened fire in response to “unprovoked firing” from the other side. He also noted that the DGMOs of both the countries were in “regular touch.”

India thinks Pakistan is engaged with internal and western problem so it is a good time to escalate tension or war with Pakistan. i always wonder how stupid indian policymakers are they knew the strategic warfare strength of Pakistan even then they want to go in that adventure i think if they further proceed they will put millions of indians life at risk last week we have seen the indian army potential when they received two bodies of army in exchange of one Pakistani soldier i think India should not put their honor at risk as Pakistan's army is at war since last 10 years and they are well warmed up for any war

[h=1]Cross-LoC travel, trade stop in Jammu[/h]
The skirmishes between Indian and Pakistani troops, in which three soldiers have died in Uri and Poonch sectors, have hit trade and travel across the LoC in the Jammu division, even as the activity is still unaffected in the Kashmir Valley. Abdul Hamid, custodian of the cross-LoC trade at the Trade Facilitation Centre, Chakan-Da-Bagh, Poonch, in the Jammu division, said trade and travel had been suspended in the wake of the January 8 firing, in which two soldiers of 13 Rajputana Rifles were killed.
“I spoke to Director General of Trade in PoK Government Ismail Khan through hotline. He told me that the entire cross-LoC trade and travel would remain suspended with immediate effect until the skirmishes subsided,” Mr. Hamid told The Hindu .
While cross-LoC travel had commenced between two parts of Jammu and Kashmir, one controlled by Pakistan and the other by India, in April 2005, cross-LoC trade on a barter basis began in October 2008. In the Kashmir Valley, Pakistani and Indian authorities have set up their facilitation centres at Chakoti and Salamabad respectively, on either side of the LoC in Uri. They remain open for the cross-LoC bus on Monday and for trade from Tuesday to Friday. A relatively small facility has been in place at Teetwal in the Tangdhar area. It, however, remains suspended for six months due to heavy snow and inclement weather on the Sadhna Pass, which connects the Valley to Tanghdar. The TFC at Chakan-Da-Bagh follows the same schedule as in Uri.
Mr. Hamid said traders had withdrawn almost a hundred of their vehicles on Thursday and Friday.

Look at the last few days:

1- Qadri appears from no where and threatens to derail the whole system via awami parliament. Most people have no idea about mob justice and mob rule its a nightmare, if system is derailed like this it would be anarchy with no one having any control.

2- Terrorist attacks of Security forces and civilians increased exceptionally (infact an Indian ex general boasts on Indian Media that India will use 'NON-MILITARY' way of retaliation - next day was bloodiest in Pk with over a hundred people killed in Terrorist attacks (which included LuJ and TTP).

3- India starts LOC firing (they came on Pk side and killed a soldier), after PK retaliated they instigated Indian public with wrong info (India started it and Indian soldiers have also beheaded Pk soldiers in other incidents).

What most people don't get is that elections keep whole country in check. The parties elected are stakeholders from their respective areas and elections usually releases the anger and frustration in a non-violent way. If Qadri succeeds Pakistan will be in a very difficult position.

Moreover, they think since in Green book Pakistan changed their military policy from India to Taliban means Pakistan has become a soft target. Inko itna nahin pata keh woh kitabcha Pakistan ne Goron ko khush karne ke liye chapa tha.
