اسلام آباد( مانیٹرنگ ڈیسک)ڈ ائریکٹر جنرل الیکشن کمیشن آف پاکستان شیر افگن اچانک طویل رخصت پر چلے گئے ہیں۔ انہوں نے نیشنل مینجمنٹ کورس کرنے کے لئے31 دسمبر تک رخصت لی ہے کیونکہ سیکریٹری الیکشن کمیشن کی عہدے پر ترقی پانے کے لئے یہ کورس لازمی قرار دیا گیا ہے۔ جبکہ ذرائع کا کہنا ہے کہ ان کا نام پندرہ روز پہلے جاری کی جانے والی لسٹ میں شامل نہیں تھا اورگزشتہ روز اچانک طور پر اسٹبلشمینٹ ڈویژن کی جانب سے کورس پر جانے والے افسران میں ان کا نام بھی شامل کر دیا گیا۔ اس پہلے الیکشن کمشنر پنجاب محبوب انور بھی رخصت پر جا چکے ہیں۔ یاد رہے عمران خان کی جانب سے ان دونوں افسران کو گزشتہ عام انتخابات میں دھاندلی کا ولن قرار دیا گیا تھا۔

Mr. Sharif's lawyers said they would appeal, insisting that too much weight had been given to the testimony of Aminullah Chaudhry, the former head of the civil aviation authority and the man who claimed to have received Mr. Sharif's orders to waylay the jet. Mr. Chaudhry, at one time a defendant, won release by becoming a state's witness.
''He purchased his freedom with the neck of another person,'' said defense lawyer, Manzoor Ahmed Malik.
The case was heard in Pakistan's anti-terrorism court, a venue for heinous crimes and speedy trials that had been instituted by Mr. Sharif himself. Indeed, the prime minister had wanted to ban any appellate process, though other lawmakers thought this draconian. As it stands, appeal from the anti-terrorism court must be filed within seven working days. A higher court then has a month to decide. A further appeal can be made to the Supreme Court.

Saturday, August 23, 2014 - LahoreJustice Manzoor Ahmad Malik took oath as acting Chief Justice of Lahore High Court (LHC) at a solemn ceremony held at the Governors House here on Friday. Punjab Governor Chaudhary Muhammad Sarwar administered this oath.
Judges of Lahore High Court, senior lawyers, law officers and civil officers graced the ceremony.
The Chief Justice of Lahore High Court, Justice Khawaja Imtiaz Ahmad has proceeded abroad and in the absence of his lordship, Justice Manzoor Ahmad Malik will be acting Chief Justice.
Justice Manzoor Ahmad Malik was elevated to the Bench on 15.09.2009. His area of practice was mainly criminal law. In the year 2005, Justice Malik, founded Free Legal Aid Society for Helpless (FLASH) and remained its elected President till his elevation. He remained Chairman Election Board, for conducting elections of Lahore High Court Bar Association, for consecutive five years from 2005 to 2009. He is an Administrative Judge of Anti-Terrorism and Banking Courts as well as Inspection Judge of Districts Gujranwala and Sahiwal.
