The chairman of the PTI Imran Khan intends to lead a caravan of at least 500 trucks loaded with relief goods, medicines and other essential commodities to Khyber Pakthoonkwa in a couple of days. The Carvan-e-umeed under the aegis of Imran Khan Flood Relief Fund will continue till normalcy returns in the flood affected areas. Addressing the central body of Ansar here on Monday, Imran urged the youth of Pakistan to join IKFRF as ANSAR It will be followed by similar caravans to all the provinces of the country, he added,saying,the precise dates of these caravans would be made public soon. We want to move quickly, preferably within the month of Ramadan in view of extreme hardship being faced by the flood victims.
The PTI chairman has called upon all those who want to contribute their bit to the relief effort to join his caravans. He said the youth of the country are being mobilised to act as volunteers in this effort and he billed them as Ansars.
Imran Khan is hopeful that he will be able to raise required fund for the purpose. He said very soon he will be calling on the prime minister and the chief of the Relief operation General Nadeem for coordination in the matter. The PTI chairman cautioned the government to be vigilant about the possibility of famine in the country and for this purpose a strict vigil needs to be kept on the borders to stop smuggling of food grains. There is no harm if the services of the army personnel too are utilised on the borders for checkmating smuggling, he added.
