Imran Khan stamped ballot paper publicly due to heavy crowd: report

اسلام آباد: (روزنامہ دنیا) پاکستان تحریک انصاف کے چیئرمین عمران خان کی جانب سے ووٹ کی رازداری کی خلاف ورزی سے متعلق پولنگ سٹیشن کے پر یذ ائیڈنگ آفیسر اور اسسٹنٹ پریذائیڈنگ آفیسر کی رپورٹ میں کہا گیا ہے کہ میڈیا اور لوگوں کے باعث مجبوراً عمران خان کو سب کے سامنے مہر لگانا پڑی۔


پریذائیڈنگ افسران کی رپورٹ کے مطابق عمران خان ہجوم کے باعث (سکرین ) پردے کے پیچھے نہیں جاسکے۔ الیکشن کمیشن 16 اگست کو پریذائیڈ نگ افسران کی مذکورہ رپورٹ کاجائزہ لے گا۔ الیکشن کمیشن نے عمران خان کو 16 اگست کو پیش ہونے کیلئے نوٹس جاری کردیا ہے۔ الیکشن کمیشن نے این اے 53 کے ڈھوک جیلانی کے پولنگ سٹیشن پر تعینات پریذائیڈنگ آفیسر اور اسسٹنٹ پریذ ائیڈنگ آفیسر سے ووٹ کی راز داری کی خلاف ورزی پر رپورٹ طلب کی تھی۔

پریذائیڈنگ آفیسر حاجی نور محمد نے الیکشن کمیشن کو بھجوائی گئی رپورٹ میں کہا ہے کہ عمران خان ووٹ ڈالنے کیلئے پولنگ سٹیشن میں داخل ہوئے تو ان کے ہمراہ 150 سے زائد میڈیا اور دوسرے افراد بھی داخل ہوگئے۔ عمران خان نے ووٹ پر مہر لگانے کیلئے پردے کے پیچھے جانے کی متعدد مرتبہ کوشش کی مگر ہجوم کے باعث وہ نہیں جاسکے۔ عمران خان نے مذکورہ صورت حال میں کہا کہ میری وجہ سے پولنگ کاعمل رک گیا ہے اس لیے یہی پر کھڑے ہو کر مہر لگا دیتا ہوں۔

Follow process by all means but ECP appears to be going over the top with this one. The presiding officer's explanation seems reasonable and ECP should issue unconditional notification as soon as possible.

A. Chief election commissioner should issue notices to the media houses which forced their reporters for this illegal act and run footage provided by their employees. There is no difficulty to identify the culprit channels from the footage.

B. Chief EC failed to inquire the polling officer and get the report of the incident before taking any action. . He should issue an apology to the voters of the consistencies who suffered because of his incompetency and inaction.

C. Further, if EC is so eager about the sanctity election laws, they should charge other leaders who openly and willingly in brought in media along them and exhibited their votes. EC can easily get the footage of those leaders who willingly broke the election laws
