Enough of this shenanigan from Imran Khan & co. to hold press conferences after court proceedings to respond to judges remarks. E.g. Imran Khan yesterday remarked in a press briefing that if all parliamentarians need to be send home/jail under article 62/63 than it will be right step to save Pakistan. This is a very strong statement, but it has 0% value in court proceedings. And such press conferences will have no effect on the case at all.
The whole case of PTI and Imran Khan is about standing on a higher moral ground and making a case against Nawaz Sharif's financial corruption (Panama papers) and abuse of power / lying under oath. The honorable judges have made 2-3 controversial remarks in court proceedings, but sadly Naeem Bukhari & whole of PTI team have failed to respond to them in appropriate way. The best way to respond to judges remarks is reply fro Imran Khan within the court proceedings. I can give examples of atleast 2 scenarios:
1. Judges comments about article 62/63:
2. Judges remarks about setting wrong precedent by disqualifying PM based on his speech.
As Imran Khan responded in a press conference (with a well made statement), he must do the same by replying to the honorable judges in a well crafted statements. He should make it clear that even if one/all parliamentarians (including him) have violated the 62/63 than they should be disqualified. Than he must also link this point to why it's important not to abuse power when in government. He needs to quote examples of West (and their courts decisions) when someone did abuse of power and how courts dealt with him / or when someone took gift or even did corruption of small amounts - how they were disqualified. He also needs to give examples of people who have been disqualified when they have lied under oath (e.g. Clintons).
There were also judges remarks about Mian Sharif doing business and why should court ask questions about that from his children. The simple answer that Imran Khan needs to give is that majority of the business was done when Nawaz Sharif /Shahbaz Sharif were in power in either center / Punjab (or both). And there is no track/trail of any money moving out of Pakistan. How did the money move out of Pakistan? Doesn't it all seem abuse of power from the son to facilitate his father to grow business. Why was this business kept as a secret from the Pakistani public for so long (in case it's legitimate). Daughter of Nawaz Sharif denied about any property till 2012, and so did other members of the family (except Kulsoom Nawaz) in early 2000s. Truth only came out after Panama papers. So it all points to abuse of power by Nawaz Sharif and breaking his oath etc etc,
What I have written above is just something that has come on top of my mind. When brilliant minds of PTI sit together they can make some strong statements. And these strong statements need to be made by Imran Khan (in person) in the court proceedings - and not just outside the court. If Imran Khan does this, the Sharif family will be in serious serious trouble.
