Imran Khan meets Canadian Ministers and Parliamentarians during his visit to Toronto, Canada
Toronto, Canada - During his visit to Toronto, Chairman of Pakistan Tehrek-e-Insaf, Mr. Imran Khan met Federal and Provincial Ministers and Parliamentarians at a few different occasions.
On Monday August 9, 2010, Mr. Khan was invited by Mr. Tim Hudak, Leader of the Opposition (Ontario) to Queen's Park, The Legislative Assembly of Ontario.
Due to prior commitments of Mr. Hudak and due to late arrival of Mr. Khan, as he was mobbed by his fans on his way; this meeting was replaced with a meeting with the Deputy Opposition Leader, Christine Elliott and MPP Garfield Dunlop. Other members of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Canada, who joined Mr. Khan in the meeting included Mr. Shabbir Chaudary, Mr. Sanaullah Chaudary and Mr. Mian Abubaqr.
Current global political situation was discussed in this meeting.
Mr. Khan and other members of PTI Canada were later given a tour of the Legislative Assembly. Mr. Salman Farooq, the organizer of this meeting and the candidate of Progressive Conservative (PC) from Pickering Area invited all for a dinner at his residence.
The same evening at a dinner at Mr. Farooqs residence Mr. Imran Khan and other members of PTI Canada also met President Progressive Conservative Party Ontario, Mr. Ken Zeise; Federal Minister of State of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Peter Kent and Former Canadas Ambassador to Afghanistan, Mr. Chris Alexander.
In the meeting, Mr. Khan expressed his views on the current political situation in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Mr. Khan also explained problems and losses caused by floods in Pakistan.
