Islamabad: Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf chairman, Imran Khan has said that his party has no objection over the names proposed by Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N) for the post of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC).
Speaking in a television programme, Khan said that there are no concerns over the credibility of Justice (r) Nasir Aslam Zahid and Justice (r) Fakhar uddin G Ibrahim.
PML-N had earlier recommended three names- acting CEC Justice Shakirullah Jan, Justice (r) Nasir Aslam Zahid and Justice (r) Fakhar uddin G Ibrahim- to the parliamentary committee on the appointment of the Chief Election Commissioner.
However, Khan said that his party will not forge any kind of alliance with Pakistan Peoples Party, Awami National Party, Muthaida Qaumi Movement, and Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N).
Khan termed the coalition partners of the current government as status-quo parties.
Imran Khan said that if PTI fails to secure simple majority in the upcoming elections, it will sit in the opposition.
There is a lot of time in the elections, Khan added.
