Sahiwal: A combo of pictures shows the Montgomery Railway Station that was built by British in 1861 on Lahore-Multan track.
It stood the test of time for 151 years until it was razed to the ground by the Pakistan Railways, which is ironically its custodian, during the first week of April.

The Railways should have repaired and preserved the building considering its historical significance and it could be turned into a museum but that was not to be.

Official say a new building of the railway station will be reconstructed with RS 221 Million Fund.
