I had requested before and am requesting it again, please convert citizen club in F-9 into National College of Arts so that our kids can go study there in such a beautiful environment. I feel this govt does things on emotions rather than using their head. Opening up a building to the public is one thing but using it for the betterment of an entire nation is another. Kindly, send my suggestion to relevant authorities. Please, please convert this building into a university for our future.

Citizen Club Islamabad to be brought into public use

A Committee comprising the Chairman CDA and the famous Architect Nayyer Ali Dada has been constituted which will present its recommendations for bringing into use the building of Citizen Club for the public interest.

I had highlighted this beautiful building lying vacant probably six months back. People did not take it seriously. But we need universities. Currently, our female family members have to go to other cities for better education. An NCA in this building and environment would be extremely beneficial. And mind you what a beautiful campus it can turn out to be in the midst of a park.

Education ministry knew about your suggestion and wanted to set up an educational institution (NCA) however CDA's argument is that the building is purpose built to be a recreational facility. The decision of how best the building could be used should be left to the relevant experts. In our country its more important to raise the quality of higher education rather than to make more institutions.

Education ministry knew about your suggestion and wanted to set up an educational institution (NCA) however CDA's argument is that the building is purpose built to be a recreational facility. The decision of how best the building could be used should be left to the relevant experts. In our country its more important to raise the quality of higher education rather than to make more institutions.

My brother I had read this article, and have visited the site. It needs bare minimum retrofitting to be converted into a higher education imparting institute. CDA is and was the most useless and corrupt organisation of Pakistan. Why should our bachiyan travel to other cities to get education that is at par with IBA,AKU,LUMS etc. We should convert this into NCA and not listen to the bull crap of CDA.

You may be right - I don't know as I am not an expert. However higher education is a privilege not a right. There is no country in the world which guarantees you quality higher education at your door step. Its a good thing that they are planning to make use of the building. I would let the relevant people make the decision. I just pointed out that the decision makers already knew about 'your' suggestion.
