Shahid it's a well written article but there is nothing new bout it. We all know the corruption in politics which leads to corruption in everything else including cricket cuz our politicians like poking their nose in everything that would make them an extra buck . for what I know they couldn't play much cricket in jail , hence zardari can't know much about the game since he spent half of his life there. Ijaz butt was a mediocre cricketer even when he played his 8 tests in all. He obviously can't do much with passion except eating . We all know why he is the chief. I have said this before on a different front but the issue is the same...we don't need politicians ...anywhere , even in the establishment . We need leaders ! A leader as a chairman of PCB ,who can bring back international cricket back to Pakistan. A leader in cheif selector , who can make honest selection without any intervention.We need a Leader in the coach , who the whole team would respct cuz of his reputition as a player in his playing days and now as a coach for his ability to transfer that experience and knowledge into younger lads. A captain , who would feel comfortable in his own skin ... Knowing that he is good enough of a player and a leader to captain his side.
We have it all wrong . The PCB chairman is obese ,who doesn't deserve any executive position anywhere cuz of his ill behaviour and zero comunication skill. The selector Mohsin khan was thrusted on this job with an obvious condition to keep his mouth shut and only say what's being told. Two bowling coaches ? really ? go figure ... A captain who averages 33 in tests but to his credit he is a better speaker than Afridi , Younus , Yousuf , Inzimam .... but unfortunately cricket is about playing the game when u r still a player .... just a good speech won't get you far .
Butt (junior) is visibly very worried with the inclusion of Yousuf cuz now he doesn't feel the most profilic in the current squad ( if anyone should feel that with his average) he keeps on stressing that youngsters need to be given a fair chance .... 3 test matches , 6 innings and I don't think Amin scored a total of 50 runs ... and maybe 100 runs in 6 innings from Azhar . Butt ( junior) feels more comfortable with the youngsters cuz he feels he has more control over someone who is brand new ...not with someone who has played 80 odd tests and averages over 53 (almost 56 before last year) and who averaged around 90 on his last tour to England.
These are the problems with playing team right no ( I don't even wanna mention pcb and the staff anymore)
1- Everyone is playing for themselves
2- Shoaib malik the culprit for the outrage in the team is back and seems unremovable cuz of his "parchi" from people's party politician ( I forget the name)
3-The grouping aganist Yousuf ( even tho' if anyone , it was him who should've been given a new team and a longer run , not everyone is Imran khan ....but if Inzi could learn some along the way,so could Yousuf)
4- if playing 6 batsmen , 3 should be experienced and 3 youngsters for proper grooming ( I'd play Salman , Yasir , younus , Yousuf , Alam/Azhar , Umar/kamal , Kamran(with 2 kicks on each bum),Amir,Gul/Shoaib,Ajmal and Asif
5- If Ponting could fear for his place in an aussie side cuz of his poor performance why can't we try merit for once , just to show we honor and reward honest and hard work , I would appoint Amir the captain for a couple of matches and see wht happens . (if you can gamble with malik and salman , why not Amir ?)
so SHahid if you are sorry you asked me for my opinion ....I apologize buddy but sort of a cricket fanatic here or maybe just an all round passionate guy . Hope I didn't bore you much .
