Disclaimer: Nothing in this article is presented as the plain truth for you to believe. Here are some onscreen ideas that made me write down this article, the rest is up to you to believe it or not. I also accept the possibility that there is another perfectly reasonable and logical exp*****ion for everything mentioned in this article. But some coincidences, just lingers on with you!
It has been a decade since the Twin Towers collapsed in US of A changing the fate of nearly the entire world. From the first day, the tragedy gave birth to many conspiracy theories. In fact, it has been hard to tell where the facts ended and the theories started. You were considered stupid if you believed the exp*****ions provided to you by their government and a conspiracy theory weirdo if you believed otherwise; quite a difficult situation really. I am not attempting to recite the worn and old theories on the 9/11 attacks rather I am trying to view the entire conspiracy theory from a different perspective altogether. What would have happened if the world had known that the 9/11 attacks were going to take place? I am going to take you through some interesting pieces of possible evidence that the September 11 attacks were foretold and that too, through a movie buff's eye! Yes, some of the famous Hollywood movies and TV shows consciously or unconsciously pointed out September 11 and associated it with grave situations.
Path to Paradise (1997)
I am quite sure that many of you would not have seen this movie as it is one of the not-in-the-mainstream types. Path to Paradise is quite a touching movie about the attempted bombing of the world trade center (the twin towers). The movie quite understandably sparked an interest when the twin towers collapsed in reality. Upon close inspection a very interesting piece of footage surfaced. Ramzi Yousef, the terrorist in the movie who created the explosives used in the bombing of the WTC (in the movie), is arrested in Pakistan and flown to US to await his trial. As he flies over the Twin Towers he says, "Next time we will bring them both down!"
Gremlins 2 - The New Batch (1990)
Funny it may sound but I have never actually understood the movie completely. It's one of those old science fictions that have no feet on reality. Still the indication of the twin towers collapse in the movie was interesting enough and might actually be symbolism. There is a scene in the movie in which the press is gathered outside the building in which the two cute-bunny-to-ugly-alien-things are roaming around. There are two main reporters who are questioning the policeman about the status inside the building. The mics of the two only reporters focused on screens have 9 and 11 written on it. Furthermore, in the background a crushed earth is seen between two metal bars, presented to be a gigantic wrench which, if we observe more closely, might refer to the impact the attacks had on the world. It is an interesting coincidence that a 'crushed world' and '9-11' are present on the same set.
The Simpsons (1997)
Unless you have been living under a rock on Mars, you would have definitely seen or heard about the hilarious animated show that has aired some 21 seasons till now - The SImpsons (I sincerely hope that you have heard about it!). In 1997, the show aired an episode named 'New York vs. Homer Simpson'. In the episode Lisa is holding up a magazine, with Bart waving around some dollars. On the cover of the magazine a bus is shown driving away from New York. The twin towers have also made an appearance in the background. It is not the appearance of the towers on the cover that raises suspicions, the towers were quite a land mark of New York after all, but the price of the magazine next to them. In black bold letters is the number '9' and right next to it we can clearly read '11' with the towers serving as 11! Apart from the vague warning of impeding destruction, the episode was quite funny and that comes as no surprise when we are talking about The Simpsons.
Independence Day (1996)
Throw in aliens, xenocide, huge spaceships, a full scale invasion, a popular celebrity and this is what you get an instant hit! Will Smith received laurels after the release of the movie and it proved out to be an important brick in his successful career. We talk about one of the longest known doomsday scenarios through an alien invasion and the movie deals with it quite innovatively making a single man-made virus capable of disabling the shields of a civilisation that we have never encountered before and much more advanced than us ;) Ah! Well no movie is perfect. When the humans have successfully managed to decrypt the alien signal and are showing the countdown to doom; the close up on the timer reveals the digits which are 00 09: 11: 01. September 11, 2001 doesn't it sound like a perfect code for a doomsday timer?
Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991)
I am sure you have all seen Terminator 2. What a movie it was! I am also sure that you haven't seen it carefully enough because, astonishingly, it contains a warning that may refer to the September 11 attacks. Remember that action packed scene in which Arnold Schwarzenegger and John Connor are being chased by the T-1000 and his truck crashes on the bridge? Though the bridge itself is not worth noticing but something is written on it that catches your eye Caution 9" 11"! Another exp*****ion for the words might be the height of the bridge but on a closer look, the bridge in question does not seem to match the stated height.
Matrix (1999)
Now this is one movie that will always have its place in the Hall Of Fame. Matrix is credited with the notion of practically igniting the bomb of conspiracy theories around the world and man what an action flick it was! With graphics and animation years ahead of its time, no wonder it was not only a box office knockout but made an impact that stays with the people till now. And being the pioneers of modern graphics, they had their own prediction of the World Trade Centre incident (2001) too. I assume you all are familiar with the theme of the Matrix saga, if you are not then that's shocking! Seriously, how can someone living in today's world and time haven't heard about the story of Matrix. Fine no need to feel so bad about yourself. Assuming you are not familiar with Neo, it's my duty to tell you that he is the protagonist of the trilogy and literally 'changed the world'. Guess what his birth date is? Yup! You guessed it right 11 September 2001!
Godzilla (1998)
Godzilla remains one of my favourite childhood memories as it is amongst the first films I ever saw. I held a distinct fascination for the rampaging irradiated-lizard flick for quite a long time. Now prepare to be amazed, as you have probably guessed by now the movie contains what might be a passing reference of the then coming September 11 attacks! Remember the scene when Nick is standing in the rain while Godzilla thrashes around levelling buildings? At that moment he looks at his watch and ironically enough the hour's hand is at the number 9 and the minutes hand is at the number 11. It gets even more surprising when the reporter in the helicopter is talking about the World Trade Centre bombing (in the movie) and at that exact moment the time code shown below is frozen to last three digits revealing '9:11'. It might be just a coincidence but isn't it too muchof it?
Armageddon (1998)
Another doomsday movie emerges with these mysterious indications. Did you notice that most of the 9/11 predictions are in action-packed end-of-the-world movies? Armageddon is a pretty famous movie with the same old meteor-crash-doomsday theme but, hey, it got Bruce Willis in it so that compensates for quite a lot of things. Anyways, the meteor is closing in on Earth and the world's best drilling team is getting ready to destroy it before it hits the Earth. As the day of action arrives, the countdown on the Kennedy Space Station can be read 9 Minutes and 11 Seconds! In another scene a taxi driver exclaims "Anything could have happened. Look at that. Uh, let's see. It could have been a terrorist bomb". Shortly afterwards in the movie, New York is bombarded by meteors and the Twin Towers lay heavily damaged in smoke.
I hope you had an 'eye-popping' experience while reading this article. Where some of you might believe it all to be a coincidence, I am sure some of you must be thinking on the lines that whether the Twin Towers crashing down into smoke was predictable or not. It sure looks like coincidences (a lot of them I must admit) and a lot of us must have not even noticed these trivial details while watching these blockbusters but it sure raises eyebrows. For all those who are thinking I have a keen observation, well I love watching movies and I take great interest in it. I was quite amazed at these series of evidences and was compelled to share it with you guys. Believing it or not is solely your decision!
