ISLAMABAD: Federal Water and Power Minister Khawaja Asif said 128 people have so far been killed in rain and flooding across Pakistan, Samaa reported Tuesday.
He said most of the deaths occurred due to rain-related incidents in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir.
Historic floods have caused widespread damages in Pakistan, said the minister while briefing lawmakers in the National Assembly session.
He said maximum deaths were reported 22 in Punjabs Sialkot city, from where he was elected MNA.
He said Gujranwala division was worst-hit in floods.
Thousands of people are still stranded in Punjab and Azad Kashmir where rain-triggered floods have inundated hundreds of villages in countrys worst flooding.
National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) spokesman said 206 people are confirmed dead in Pakistan.
Sialkot and Gujranwala divisions are worst-affected, whereas Narowal, Wazirabad, Sargodha, Nankan Sahib, Jhang, Jhelum, Chiniot, Khoshab districts are also affected.
