Hilal Committee of Metropolitan Toronto & Vicinity declares Eid on Saturday 18th July 2015

There have been NO confirmed sightings of the new crescent in the parametersof the Hilal Committee on the eve of Thursday July 16th, 2015 (29th Ramadan 1436), therefore the Hilal Committee of the GTA, Canada officially declares 30 days of the blessed month of Ramadan. The 1st of Shawwal (Eidul Fitr) will be on Saturday July 18, 2015,

• The Hilal Committee of GTA has declared that here was no confirmed sighting of new Hilal today, Ramadan completes 30 days. 1st of Shawwal and Eidul Fitr on Saturday, July 18th 2015.
• According to the Fiqh Council of North America, based on the astronomical calculations, the first day of Shawal 1436 / 2015, and Eid Al-Fitr will be Friday, July 17, 2015
• Globally, the hilal will be visible on the night of Friday, July 17, 2015. Based on the announcement in Saudi Arabia and other locations, Eid Al-Fitr will be Friday, July 17th, 2015. (Moonsighting.com)

In Toronto....most mosques will have Eid Prayer's on Saturday and will be celebrating Eid on Saturday..Only Saudi's will have Eid on Friday...In Denison Mosque and Nugget Mosque...they also announced Eid on Saturday....Fiqh Jaffaria..will be Celebrating on Saturday also...I think only Saudi's are having Eid on Friday and not too many Mosques follow it..I might be wrong.

Well i follow ICNA/ISNA however as far as i am aware there was a moon sighting in Chicago and the hilal committee of Chicago and New Jerseey confirmed that but i guess the Hilal committee of GTA was waiting for some one from Chilli or West Indies to confirm the sighting....just very weird.

No idea about this. I don't know what are they doing.. Big mosques like nugget are following hilal committee.
