Iqbal was a great poet but I an starting to question his impact on the world.

Maybe we just revere him not because of his ideas but because we have made him into a symbol. Which may not be because of his achievements but because he is all we have.

We couldn't come up with great thinkers like West did so whatever we have we hold it to very high esteem.

Although people ahould still be allowed to criticize ideas no matter where they come from.

I have to plead ignorance in this case. I'm not a big fan of poetry in any language Urdu ho ya aur koi zuban. Mujhe to sirf jo shayri achi lagti hai woh mazahiya shayri hai aur woh bhi Punjabi mein, jaise ke Anwar Masood type. Aur woh bhi kabhi kabar jub bore ho raha hota houn to sun leta houn. Outside of that, meh!

Yes I do give Iqbal all the credit he deserves and then some for coming up with the concept of a separate nation and convincing Mohd Ali Jinnah to comeback to Pakistan from his self exile from London and carry on the cause for Pakistan.

But outside this, calling him some kind of great Muslim personality and that too because of his poetry is a bit of a stretch. Although never been a big fan of Hassan Nisar and specially now after finding out what kind of a terrible person he was in personal life but his argument is solid in this case.

Going back to the Iqbal's Islamic side isn't it true Iqbal had become Qaidiani for good period of around 40 years and a lot of his Islamic poetry is written during the time he was a Qaidiani? Now correct me if I am wrong though because I just have basic knowledge of this.

H.Nisar who as his son has told that used to come under influence of Alcohol and then beat their mother and them too brutally..he is an known alcoholic who came in many shows drunk too, he gives lectures on morality though his lectures about morality but he doesn't apply them to his own self.

Only when Allama Iqbal was very young (24y/o in 1901) he praised the discipline in Jamaat Ahmadiyya.

Mirza Ghulam Ahmad died in 1908. If the great Allama wanted to be a Qadiani it was easy for him to to go to Qadian and do bai'at (allegiance) on Mirza's hand.

Allama Iqbal called Ahmadiyyat as BERG-E HASHISH (HASHISH LEAVES) and thrashed the cult most severely in his prose and poetry like no one had done.
