Democracy is worse than dictatorship without local bodies: Altaf Hussain

تو کیا جناب وہ ایم کیو ایم نہیں تھی جس نے چند وزارتوں کی خاطرکراچی اور سندھ میں بلدیاتی نظام کے خاتمے میں زرداری کا ساتھ دیا؟

If they back PTI demand thats fine no problem but PTI should stay away from MQM just like I thought and still think PTI should have stayed away from PAT, SR etc.

In power politics u hv to make compromises, Altaf Bhai is on fire today, check the tweets, I tihnk they will jump the ship (meaning Go NS GO) first n PPP to follow

Bigger question is why would MQM back PTI demands as the rigging they done in Karachi they shud be the last people to support PTI demands, thing to ponder abt

Yes in power politics one have to make compromises like currently Nawaz Sharif is doing, good for short term but not good for long term.

Yes Good question and despite that PML-N has accommodated MQM giving them Governorship, not doing anything about their criminal activities etc. Not sure about MQM but you can see that (even on this forum) that all Musharraf supporters are trying to hide behind PTI their agenda is not to support PTI on principals but to settle score with NS. Once NS govt is over you will see all of them and specially journalist like Moeed pir zada, Jasmeen Manzoor, Mubashar Luqman, Kamran SHahid etc will start haunting PTI.

PTI real strength is real grass root support and large part of Pakistanis understand and believe in PTI message. Asghar khan though clean like IK but he was unable to convey his message to large part of the population. JI is different story. I dont think any single Islamic party will ever get support from large part of Pakistanis people

One possible reason maybe understanding on Local Govt. and more provinces, since PTI is very serious about more provinces and local Govts.

Current Pakistan situation and Egypt situation is different. Egypt status quo is more strong just like Pakistan status quo was strong in 80s and 90s. See Erdogan what he did to the status quo with power of people.

Wt Erdogan did he did in his second term, he never went loggerhead with establishment in his first term, only after delivering in his first term he was confident enough to take them on so don't agree on this

well he didn't seek support from establishment to come to power. Actually establishment was against him from day one due to his roots with Millet party of Erbakan who was thrown out by the establishment.

there is special breed of humans who are usually PTI supporters, its called the stupid breed, the party has gone from dumb to dumber since azadi march

as to reply for the question, no, MQM didn't accept commissioner system for few ministries, MQM succeeded in bringing SPLGO ordinance in 2012, but thanks to PTI, PMLN and other major players who opposed it

no party wants to be displaced by dictators and let them rule, local bodies system favours MQM it gives MQM authority, commissioner system takes away all of that

minister is limited by CM powers, but a local government in Karachi will be an independent government

anybody will not let local government of karachi slip away from his fingers because Karachi is a gold mine
