Ghaddar-e-Karachi!

If the demand of the Muhajir o Karachi province continues to prevail, we would block the supply of water and food items for Karachi. This was the threat given by a Sindhi nationalist Ayaz Latif Palijo while addressing the Love Sindh rally along with Uzair Baloch and PML-N`s Marvi Memon.
The question is, legally, constitutionally, Islamically or ethically can the people belonging to a specific ethnicity, religions, sect, region or city be given such a threat just because of the reason that they are making a demand of a new province for them? If yes, why didn`t we see the similar reaction towards the people of Gilgit Baltistan, Hazara and Southern Punjab due to the same reasons? But, if no, then why were these extremists allowed to do that for the Karachi-ites?
Why didn`t any of the political and religious parties, ethnic groups, civil society, lawyers` community, human rights activists, retired or present judges or intellectuals condemn these people? Should I infer that all these people support the threats or they are afraid of these nationalists? Whatever the reason is, I consider their silence as a criminal act against the Karachi-ites.
We know that since 80`s, MQM has been securing more than 80% of the seats from this city. It has been getting the highest votes from the people here. It has been representing this city in the national as well as the provincial assembly ever since it came into politics. Politically, Karachi deserves to be called the MQM`s city for this reason.
Previously, Karachi used to be called the City of Lights. However, now traditionally anti-MQM elements started using a new term Mini Pakistan for it. They argue that Karachi is not a city of only one party of ethnic community, but of all the parties and the communities of the country. Since the people from all the ethnic communities and regions of the country are present here, it should be called Mini Pakistan, they say. If it is really so, the question is, had the people pertaining to different communities not been previously living here when it used to be called the City of Lights?
Anyway, taking the cover of this self-introduced term, the leaders from almost all the political and religious parties, ethnic groups, sects or other communities try to ensure their presence here. No matter, they politically represent the people of their own native areas, cites and provinces or not, they do their best to prove their stake in this city.
Claiming Karachi is of every one, these parties and groups show so much ownership of this city that any prominent leader from them is very easily given the title of Shair-e-Karachi________the tiger of Karachi. As a result, there has developed a list of those people from different parties who have been given this title. Very interesting thing in this respect is, none of these names pertains to MQM____the most popular party of the city for decades. In other words, the term Shair-e-Karachi is given only to the people who belong to anti-MQM parties and groups. Not only the political parties, in their individual capacity, but also the provincial assemblies of different provinces do not hesitate to discuss and pass any unanimous resolutions on the matters belonging purely to Karachi. This shows how much interest they take in Karachi.
Taking into all these things, the question is, why didn`t these owners of the city speak up against the threats given by Sindhi nationalists? If the supply of water and food items are blocked for the city, would the whole city not be in trouble? Not speaking of the MQM`s voters, don`t the people belonging to owners parties, groups, sects, ethnicity and provinces live here?
If Karachi is really a Mini Pakistan, will big Pakistan not be disturbed as well if the supply is blocked?? Why is there complete silence on such threats? Why don`t they speak up like MQM? Is Karachi not of every one now? Don`t other different ethnic communities live here? Are other political parties not present here anymore? Isn`t there anyone`s stake in this city like MQM? What about national assembly and Senate? No discussion about this threat? No adjourning motions were moved in this respect? Is the opposition leader sleeping on this matter?
Regarding the other provincial assemblies, have their members lost the pain of their own communities living in Karachi? Does the Baluchistan assembly not care for the people speaking Balochi? Has the KPK assembly forgotten the fact that the majority of Pashtoons lives in Karachi? Now, isn`t there anyone sending the tribal force Lashkar to Karachi from the tribal areas to save their own people? Why are they so silent on this threat? Why have they starting assuming that Karachi is of only one party MQM and only one ethnicity Muhajir??
Meetha Meetha Hup Hup, Karwa Karwa Thu Thu!
On top of these, where are the tigers of Karachi? Why don`t they step forward to challenge the extremists? Isn`t it the best opportunity to prove themselves the real Shair-e-Karachi? Isn`t it their own Karachi now? Isn`t there any single Shair of the long list of Shair-e-Karachi who could dare to come up and challenge the people giving such threats?? Why have they become Geeder-e-Karachi instead of Shair-e-Karachi?
Where have these people disappeared from the scene? Are they silent due to the fear of the Sindhi nationalist or do they also have the similar views like Ayaz Palijo? Or, perhaps, the nationalist have ensured them that their people (belonging to their parties, ethnicities, sects, cities or provinces) would be secretly supplied all the things they need? Which of them is true? Whatever the fact is, Karachi-ites cannot believe them any way. Instead of Shair-e-Karachi, I should call them Badd kirdar-e-Karachi, Ghaddar-e-Karachi or Geeder-e-Karachi, I leave it up the people of this city.
