This is before the re-election of PK 68, results of the original By-elections. As you can see, Ehtesham only acquired 277 votes while Javed Akbar Khan won it by 41349 votes..Now that he is in PTI and given PTI's recent really positive impression thanks to the Azaadi March he beat a very tough opponent backed by multiple parties! This shows that PTI is in its rise in popularity in KPK :)

Who's Javed Akbar Khan? Isn't he's his father disqualified because of fake degree? So obviously people who voted for his father in General elections have now vote for son as it happens in dynastic politics of Pakistan. Khair, not to take anything away from Ehtesham, he should be congratulated. Only problem is that PTI doesn't accept this system, infact have tender their resignations to the speaker but yet claim to have the support of vote where they win and throw toys out of pram where the lose. PTI needs to dig deep to establish where they actually stand. These U turns and pick & choose will not last for long.

It doesn't make any sense. Why would a father and son compete in the same elections? Won't it divide their votes and decrease chances of his father?

Did they do it to establish the son into politics as well, or they had some family differences?

Dear Ptian don't jump with happiness on claim that Ehtesham got winning vote due to Pti as he could secured only 277 votes in May 2013 election. Fact is that he was the covering candidate of his fake degree holder father in May 2013 election and he did not withdraw from the election as he was expecting the disqualification of his father due to fake degree. Therefore his name remained on the ballot papers in May 2013 election. Also Ehtesham has won this election on Pti ticket with a lead of only 4500 votes where as his father had won may 2013 as independent with a lead of over 10,000.

hahaha till today morning ppl were claiming he ll loss ,now patwaris r saying he did nt win because of pti lol
fact is, he was pti's candidate and has defeated his opponent who was backed by 5 parties.if pti's ticket wasnt going to help him, he would have not joined pti. patwaris should accept it nw and thy should try to understand and analyse y the guy who had backing of 5 parties lost instead of coming up with senseless comments and posts.

I am sorry but such move only splits their own votes because if they are Father and son and had no differences then the people voting for son could have voted for his father on the Son's request. That is why i said that it was splitting their own vote bank..

even if his father was disqualified due to fake degree, his son is legit and most importantly is a 'Naujawan' so if he meets PTI's criteria then i can't see any issue in giving him a ticket or taking him into PTI.

What I grasped from all the above inputs by our learned friends that an Independent candidate won with the large margin and defeated 5-parties backed ANP candidate. It also revealed to me that the candidate on PTI ticket was only back up candidate and the winner independent joined PTI impressed by Azadi March - so far so good. It is a 60 plus years old story that independent candidate joins the governing political party, there is nothing new for me. The twist in the story is only this that the winning candidate was actual PTI candidate from day one of the election campaign and every voter was personally told that the actual PTI candidate was Javed Akbar Khan. This much I understood clearly.

In between the lines the story of Ehtesham Javed, I could not understand at all. My bad.
