For his first task as the newly-elected Prime Minister, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf has called a conference on the energy crisis faced by the country, Express News reported on Saturday.
Members of the cabinets energy committee and other concerned authorities will also participate in the meeting.
Earlier, Ashraf was elected the countrys 25th prime minister by the parliament on Friday, taking over from Yousaf Raza Gilani who was disqualified by the Supreme Court.
The prime minister is accused of receiving kickbacks in the rental power projects as well as in buying property in London from money earned through corruption in various scams for which he is currently defending himself in the Supreme Court.
