Fahim demands division of Karachi as per Hyderabad formula

Peoples Party Parliamentarians President Makhdoom Amin Fahim has demanded to divide Karachi into districts. He said that Hyderabad division formula should be applied on Karachi. He said that he was disappointed when the government turned away from its stance on Hyderabad.
Talking to Dunya News in Lahore, he said that Makhdoom Amin Fahim said that MQM was glad on Hyderabads division and its old status was not acceptable for MQM. So, the same formula should be applied on Karachi, if MQM doesnt want to change the status of Hyderabad. He said that Karachi should be divided into districts. He said that the government should not have changed its stance on Hyderabad status.

Amin Fahim’s statement in contrast to reality: Farooq Sattar

Deputy Convener MQM Coordination Committee Dr Farooq Sattar said that Amin Fahim’s statement on Hyderabad is in contrast to reality. He advised Amin Fahim to improve his reputation in PPP first. He said that it is clear to everyone what the masses demand. He said that it is inappropriate talk about changing the status of the Hyderabad.

I think PPP is out of their minds as Karachi is a city where those district which he was talking about were very small land area wise compare to any other districts of Pakistan but they were large in terms of population so the dynamics of Karachi's five districts are very different from districts of Hyderabad as those districts which were separated from Hyderabad were each bigger then 4 districts of Karachi combine....Over all karachi today's district is very small district compare to any other district in Sindh in terms of area so by distributing authorities within very small districts of Karachi this would cause huge problems in development as the many projects were developed between teo or three districts like Signal free corridor 1, 2 were built in Karachi east and Karachi central and signal free corridor 3 was built in Karachi east and karachi South(Saddar area) so if authorities are divided in such a way then every districts of Karachi while initiating thier part of project would encounter many problems as complains like one district has completed the project but other district is working very slow, one district has finance while other district dont, construction in one district are done by someone else and construction in other district was done by someone else, difference of material use in both districts, difference quality of construction in both districts etc...So by distribution authority the whole chain of command will be destroyed and central authority wont be their to take matters in their hands....

While on Hyderabad the size of all those districts were very large in area but very small in population and each of those districts were having problems in reaching Hyderabad city where authority of those districts are located before separation of those districts so reaching district offices for problems were very difficult for those living in Tando Allahyar, Mutiari etc...so by dividing Hyderabad in four districts people of those districts were able to facilitated as district Govt. offices came within their reach and many problems of people of those districts were also solved which were not possible before division of districts in Hyderabad....Decisions in collisions are made on the basis of solution of problems while PPP is deciding on the basis of their workers is it fair when their is already a collision govt. in Sindh???

Big Metropolitan Cities are not divided into small districts

I saw the interview of Haider Abbas Rizwi and he made the things clear that:

1. It is wrong to compare big Metropolitan Cities to the rural Areas.

2. Where dividing the Rural Areas into small districts bring prosperity and make life easy, but it works totally opposite in big Metropolitan Cities, while one Big Road Starts from one part of Karachi and ends at other part, one water pipeline starts from one part and ends at other part, all projects get disturbed due to this in metropolitan City.

That is why, not a SINGLE Metropolitan City has even been divided into smaller districts, either it is Delhi, Mumbai, Hamburg, etc.

3. All this happens while in Metropolitan City a big Population is living in small area.... while in rural areas it is Areas very big but population very small.

4. Then Haider Abbas Rizwi explained that a Metropolitan City is not divided into Districts, but it is divided into TOWNs and Powers are transferred to these Towns, except for power for construction of roads and other big projects etc.


In case of Hyderabad, it brought Benefits to not only to City of Hyderabad, but also to the other 3 districts. There is no Negative thing that there happened as far as administration point of view is concerned. The only loss was for PPP in political sense.

Whereas division is concerned, the terrorists sitting in London and its supportos would like to divide the whole of Pakistan in such small areas so that these jokers look big. Meaning Karachi and Hyderabad will be the biggest districts or divisions based on Population. As Mehwish Ali have us believe with her innocent reasons. Who has given these terrorists to talk about division of other provinces. This party and its supportors are not wanted outside of Karachi or Hyderabad.

I guess Fahim should first try to restore his position in his party, what exactly he is in PPP by the way? He was senior vice chairman at the time of Benazir, nominated to be PM, what happened to that?
We need to examine what exactly is his position so that it can be figured out, where he is coming from.

I dont know about the rest of Pakistan's division but in Karachi and Hyderabad MQM have their elected representatives so as they have those in Karachi and Hyderabad so their point of view is point of view of people of Karachi and Hyderabad whom elected them in election so they have all the rights in the world to talk about Karachi and Hyderabad division due to being elected from there....as far as other divisions are concern then it is the suggestion of MQM to made South Punjab another province because it will solve administrative problems there and its people who have to decide that they accept this suggestion or reject it so if they got elected from South Punjab then their suggestion will become their demand as they would be elected representative to ask for that....
