Erdogan after getting merely 51 % votes in his favour should resign , he has infact lost the electio

Erdogan has superficially won the referendum and it is true that for Muslim countries presidential systems , military dictatorships and kings and conquerers of history produced better administrations , stable administrations , high growth rates and empires which lasted for centuries.

But this referendum has been a DEFEAT for Erdogan , he could not get a full 49% of the votes . winning by only 1 % , so he has actually lost the referendum. Opposition won the election who were regarded as weak.

If a man (turkish opposition) fights with a lion (erdogan) and both emerge live with nearly 50% votes then it is opposiiton which won , since lions are supposed to kill the man. survival of man means lion has lost.

Erdogan's treatment of educated islamic party after failed coup and his persecution of even teachers in Pakistan of Pak Turk schools showed a meanness which Turks have turned to votes against him.

The only problem is with rigging. Like Husni Mubarik and Saddam was conducting elections on regular basis.
Like in Pakistan even if there is unopposed Candidate from PMLN, he/she will still do rigging as for her/him without rigging no taste in victory.

You are ignoring a very important point Shaikh Sab
Referendum was to change the system so there may be many Erdogan supporter who may not favor this move as they might feel that current system serves Turkey Better. Islamists would feel that their vote will be diluted whereas nationalists who are not traditionally Erdogan voters were in favor of the idea so this could not be regarded as a confidence vote for Erdogan, and before you come back with UK PM resigning he proved a man and was killed by the lion.
