I think there is no problem to give Army a role in the matters of Government like ISI is not under ministry of interiors,
you can give Ministry of interior at all to the Army, some retired general be the minister and on duty personels work and run the ministry's affairs, which should control all Law enforcement in Pakistan if you are not able to shut down the attacks made by insurgents and failed to protect your people, not more than this we have experimented a lot.( bombig looting banks mobile snatching bathha khori target killings have become a usual phenomenon in Pakistan apart from Taliban factor ) you have given a lot of room to your enemies to work on. This role must be given by the parliment to Army sort of an additional work to train and groom the national law enforcemnt agencies and made them as disciplined as our Army is. I am asking for this when I am hearing about different models about Pakitan, this will be constituional and rewarding also. Do think on this line that army are spcialized for fighting and defending so their role must be specialized in politics if whatsoever. They shouldnt be regarded good in negotiations, running schools and hospitals, respoding to the strikes made by civilians. They will always consider strikes as challenging writ not as a right.

No qualification at all still husni mubarak ruled egypt for 29years, many of the USA presidents have backgroung of serving in army, not go far Pakistan has been run by army generals how many times and for what duration. you should have asked me instead what is the qualification of a pakistani politican to run it. Pakistani civil service is no doubt competent and can handle the situation but they need good masters to order them logically, and I suppose pakistani politican are not that good and if good enough they failed to deliver. I am against the role of boots in civilian set ups but its not me everybody is talking Govt. failed to deliver, very optimistic analysts are saying we have lost hopes about Pakistans future, something is gonna happen, dont let it burst give people their way.........I think this may be the way. If it is avoidable and Pakistan can be better by some other good way, go for it

If thread title like this "effeminates Army role in Politics" was much better , bcz since 1947 they conquers the own country " Pakistan" and destroyed the own country , This dastards have to obey elected govt, not to rule.... Already we lost half Pakistan, Kashmir, and water, even economy ...... all are being done under these self claimed guardians.

I support this title also. But kashmir was lost under civilian rule, separation of east Pakistan by political deadlock which the politicians were unable to resolve, Sindh tas, the long standing agreement between Pakistan and India, resolved issues regarding water, though I have resevation, but this was the only option left at that time and this agreement has served the purpose, atleast economically we excelled during military regimes. You cant say we are economically ill or unable to protect our waters due to somebody but the "Incompetence". Dont let me revise what are the headlines today about matters of governance.
