ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has announced that dual nationals cannot hold any post within a political party.
According to the ECP, the same rules which apply for parliamentarians under the Political Order 2002 are also applicable on individuals seeking party posts.
The ECP was reviewing a petition filed against the agreement signed between the government and Tahirul Qadri. Petitioner Engineer Jalil Malik in his stance contended that there was no legal bearing of the agreement and under the constitution a dual national could not hold a political party post. The ECP said that Tahirul Qadri did not hold any position within the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT), following which the petition was withdrawn.
Meanwhile, the ECP dismissed a petition pertaining to the ineligibility of Sardar Yar Muhamamd Rind.

Dual national cannot become party chief: ECP

ECP has clarified that any person holding dual nationality cannot become party chief.


ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The Election Commission of Pakistan on Monday reviewed a petition filed against the agreement signed between the government and Tahirul Qadri.

Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) took the stance that Dr Tahirul Qadri did not hold any position in the party.

Following this, Engineer Jalil Malik withdrew his petition against PAT.

Meanwhile, the ECP dismissed a petition filed for the disqualification of Sardar Yar Muhamamd Rind.

To be honest, given the choice you preferred getting Canadian nationality and I am sure for good reasons.
With due respect to your intentions, You may be sending money to Pakistan because your extended family may be living there not because of the love for the land!

So let's face the reality and let the country rule itself.

bro listen, itny high level pay ho koi take for example Zardari or NS who have money abroad, they have billion and billions of dollor wealth in that countries and they know if they see something going worse in country thy can easily flee in some other state. tuqeer sadik ko pakistan nai laya ja saka 4 5 mah sy to yah woh loog jin ki billions ma jadad bahir hai un ko wapis dain gay kia?? if u win millions lottery in uk they will literally fell in ur feet to stay in uk to let this money in ur accounts and so their economy can flourish, can they bear this huge loss if NS pull his plaza and flats money out of uk economy. so they are in relationship of give and take... uk usa is giving them shelter and in return they are giving them casino, clubs, plazas and mensions tax money ...

Bearing in mind the politician in the past (present as well) exploited Pakistan through dual nationality. Please be considerate to what challenges we are facing.This is not aimed at ordinary people who are contributing to economy and therefore are acknowledge to have their say through voting rights given recently.
