Islamabad: The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Wednesday rejected documents presented by Interior Minister Rehman Malik in dual nationality case.
Maliks lawyer CHaudhry Azhar submitted the documents, confirming that the interior minister had abandoned UKs nationality, as a three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry resumed hearing to the case.
The bench rejected the documents, ruling that they were not more than piece of paper without official stamps. The bench said the certificate, endorsing Maliks claim of leaving the nationality, was also not attached with the documents.
Karachi: Interior Minister Rehman Malik has said he had abandoned UK nationality and would submit a certificate to the Supreme Court of Pakistan in this regard.When asked to comment about SC rejected documents, submitted by his lawyer in dual nationality case, the minister said: I will soon submit certificate, I keep something secret for sometimeHe was talking to media at the Jinnah International Airport in Karachi after his return from UK on Wednesday.Malik said that the Muttahida Qaumi movement didnt want division of Sindh and Altaf Hussain told him during his meeting in Lodon about his partys stance on the province.Answering a question regarding law and order in Karachi, he said those, who wanted early election should know that the polls would be held in time and the violence would not help them get early election.He reiterated that terrorists Gilgit-Baltistan were involved in sectarian killings in Karachi and Balochistan.
