KARACHI: Governor Sindh Saeed uz Zaman Siddiqui's condition has improved after it briefly deteriorated earlier in the day, a spokesman for the Governor House said on Monday.
Spokesman Governor House said Siddiqui was on a routine diet. He is in contact with Governor House staff and is signing important documents, the spokesman said.
Earlier, hospital sources informed that doctors have advised Siddiqui lung transplant.
Sources said the capability of Siddiquis lungs to absorb oxygen has been finished, adding that lung transplant is not done in Pakistan.
The lung transplant procedure is carried out in America, Britain and India. The hospital sources said that the transplant procedure can be dangerous at the age of 80.
The governor Sindh, who took his oath last month, was admitted to a hospital shortly after assuming charge due to chest infection and breathing problems.
Zaman has remained the Chief Justice of Pakistan from July 1999 till December 2005. During the former dictator General (Retd) Pervez Musharraf's rule Zaman refused to take oath under the Provisional Constitutional Order (PCO).
In 2008 he ran as a presidential candidate from Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz.
